Book events are held throughout the Festival, usually in the evenings, giving audiences the opportunity to listen to an author or publisher and ask questions, or attend a Workshop and Poetry Evening, as well as buy the author’s books.
We are delighted to announce the following authors and events, with more detailed information to follow soon on the events, venues and times:
Saturday September 24th 2016, evening: "Ancient Egypt: New Discoveries" with Egyptologist, Professor Joann Fletcher, recently on BBC2 and BBC4;
Sunday September 25th, afternoon: Writing Workshop with Irene Lofthouse;
Sunday September 25th, evening: "Men of Lead, Swaledale and its Miners" with David Joy;
Monday September 26th, evening: "The Brontes" with historian, Juliet Barker;
Tuesday September 27th, evening: Little Toller Publishers and the republishing of classics of nature writing and rural life from the British Isles;
Wednesday September 28th, evening: Book Group event with Frances Brody and her book "Death in the Dales";
Thursday September 29th, evening: Poetry Evening;
Friday September 30th, evening: to be confirmed;
Saturday October 1st, evening: to be confirmed and
just possibly Sunday October 2nd...
